GE MDS Licensing

Introducing MDS 900 MHz License Program

GE MDS now owns a significant number of 900 MHz channels, in the major gas and oil producing areas of the U.S., and can grant exclusive use of this spectrum to our customers.The licenses allow our customers an affordable, long-term solution for immediate deployment of licensed systems in areas where many customers do not have access to spectrum.

A licensed frequency affords the best protection from interference and allows users to employ the full RF power allowed in this part of the spectrum.

The areas we have channels include: The Gulf of Mexico. Boarding areas to the Gulf in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. Texas - Kansas - Oklahoma - New Mexico - Parts of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming (including Gillette).

  • Immediate deployment of a GE MDS licensed network.
  • Interference-free, exclusive use as with FCC licensed frequencies.
  • Higher power and larger antennas yielding much further range.
  • Use of dedicated channels with MDS TransNET™, FHSS for tail end extensions to create large systems that can be managed centrally with MDS Network Management Tools.

  • Hassle-free coordination through GE MDS, no FCC involvement or processing required.

Additional Optional Services*:
  • Computer path survey with 360 degree coverage analysis.
  • Site survey to assess potential sources of difficulties due to pagers and recommendations for antenna heights, types and filters as required. (Site survey and Path survey may be required if master location is near the edge of GE MDS spectrum coverage).

* Build requirements and technical requirements remain the same as for any 900 MHz FCC licensed System. GE MDS reserves the right to implement short space agreements with our customers where such agreement will not degrade performance due to interference.
